About

Me around sometime in the past

My name is… n’t really important.

For many years I tried to enter to the 3D industry with a lousy record of just one remote job that lasted for a few months, it was in the field of architectural visualization, but it wasn’t what you might expected: I only model the houses’ infrastructure, not the decorations nor furniture and such , I didn’t render anything; the houses weren’t that intricate either, it was very basic modeling. Even with that in mind, I couldn’t keep the job, that speaks volumes.

Naturally this makes anyone question their abilities, and more importantly, what are you going to do to make some goddamn money. You can’t expect to “grow as an artist” indefinitely without generating some income. Life isn’t fair nor unkind is just it, and in this world, irony rules. If you want a job, you need experience but in order to get experience you need to get a job… at least in a job that requires more than a weekend to master.

If an opportunity arrives, take it, it may not be the opportunity you want but it may be the one you need.

I needed to put food on the table, fortunately, my table consists of only one, and now I’m a member of the “sanitation and maintenance of households”, a fancy way to say that I clean your dirt. I’m not going to pretend anything here, not making excuses nor expecting pity nor belittling anyone. A job is a job, sure, I would love to do something that gives me both excitement and wealth, nevertheless that’s life.

Now, consider my situation: The country I live in doesn’t make things easier, we don’t even have any type of e-commerce opportunities, any “sell your art online” idea is useless because our country doesn’t accept payments from any of the current services (p.e. PayPal)! Hell! We can’t even take donations!

The 3D industry here is non-existent, any type of 3D related work is extremely scarce and when it is available, if you don’t know the right people, you’re out of luck. It’s probably the worst profession one can take living here.

Why bother then? I’ve been doing this for quite some time now, it’s part of my routine. It’s like running, you do it because it makes you feel good, you’re not thinking about being an Olympic medalist, it’s about fun. That’s the purpose of this blog, I’m having fun making these projects…also it’s very cathartic.

That’s my little story, hope you find it as amusing as I found it caustic and if you think I can be useful for something, write me, maybe you can give me some hope.

Enjoy the ride.
